About the Homer O Harvey 5K

The HOH 5K is scheduled for Saturday, May 14, 2016!
We invite you to be a part of Northbrook School District 28’s Homer O. Harvey Scholarship 5K Run, also known as the HOH 5K. The race is named for the late Dr Harvey, a longtime superintendent of District 28. District 28 and Dr Harvey's family established the Homer O. Harvey Scholarship Fund in 1989, after Dr Harvey retired. The HOH 5K is the main fundraiser to support the Scholarship Fund.
Each year, between 12-16 District 28 Glenbrook North seniors are awarded $500-$1,000 scholarships based on citizenship and scholarship. Since 1989, 303 GBN/NBJH graduates have received $267,500 in scholarship funds.
This year the HOH 5K will take place on Saturday, May 14th, 2016 at 8:00 am and is held at Northbrook Junior High School, 1475 Maple Avenue in Northbrook. The HOH 5K is open to all levels of runners and walkers. Many families walk to race course together and have younger children included with a stroller ride. (NO bikes, dogs or rollerblades, please)
The HOH 5K is promoted through the four schools in District 28 and at Glenbrook North High School. Last year the event hosted more than 400 participants, plus spectators and volunteers, and earned over $7,000 for the Scholarship Fund after expenses were paid.
You can also support HOH scholarship fund by participating in one of the dining or shopping days at local merchants. The events generate a certain percentage of your purchase towards the HOH scholarship fund. It is an easy way to give back!
